Zakia's Argan Oil Shampoo

I received Zakia's Argan Oil Revitalizing Cream Shampoo from my Meg's Makeup gift package in February, and knew I had to share this product with my readers.

The Argan oil in the shampoo is moisturizing and it left my hair feeling soft and luxurious. Since I have been blow-drying my hair often since I have no time to let it air-dry anymore, I feel that my hair has been more frizzy and damaged from the heat. The Argan Oil coated the ends of my frizzies but left my hair feeling oily during the "second-day" after washing.

If your hair is oily, I don't recommend you to use this everyday. I use this once every two weeks to mix up my shampoo routine and to moisturize my hair.

Organix Shampoo- Get it Free w/ Rebate Offer

I was browsing at my local drugstore this weekend when I saw that certain bottles of the Organix shampoo and conditioners had a cash rebate offer. Basically you purchase the bottle that day and you send in your receipt and rebate form (attached on the bottle) and in about 2 months, you will get a check in your mail.

The bottle that I picked up was the Organix Pomegranate Green Tea Shampoo. Not only does it smell delicious, the extracts from the pomegranate and green tea are good for your hair! (Think anti-oxidants!) This shampoo is targeted for dry and brittle hair, but even though I have oily hair, my hair feels very clean and fresh.

This line of haircare prides itself in using organic ingredients and using a sulfate-free and paraben-free formula.

(Look for this Label to get yours free!!)

Organix currently have 14 different flavors of shampoo- their newest is the Cherry Blossom Ginseng in a beautiful pink bottle. A few others I want to try are: Grapefruit Mango Butter (supposed to leave your hair with a frizz-free finish) and Mandarin Olive Oil.

Review: Sephora OPI Nail Colour Remover

sephora opi nail polish remover

The Sephora OPI Nail Colour Remover is my go-to nail polish remover. I've used multiple drugstore brands with non-acetone before, but they always had a strong smell that wasn't pleasant. This one not only smells great but does the job quick and easy! It received 5 stars from Sephora.com users and is available for $5 for a 2 oz. bottle or $9 for a 4 oz. bottle.

Review: Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer for Spring

On the Burt's Bees website, they selected their favorite items to use for this Spring. One of their items, including the Lip Shimmer in Peony- my new go-to lip product.

For a limited time, with any $50+ purchase at Burtsbees.com, you can get a free Head to Toe starter kit to try mini samples of their great products.

Burt's Bees is popular due to their fan-favorite lip balms. So I was not surprised that their Lip Shimmers were really good as well. Given this product to review, I found the shade Peony the right hint of pink and red to match my lips naturally. It contains peppermint that makes your lips feel tingly as well as moisturizing ingredients.

Degree Women Natureffects Body Mist Sample

degree women natureffects body mist
My friend, J, gave me an extra sample of the Degree Natureffects Body Mist that were given out in the busy streets of New York City. They were giving out sample tubes of their Natureffects Body Mist in Orange Flower & Cranberry. This scent comes in a Body Mist or scented deodorant.

A fan of citrus scents in general, I think this scent combines the two sweet scents together with a hint of vanilla. I can definitely smell the cranberry which is nice. It's not too strong and it's a great pick-me-upper during the day. If you're craving for a new scent, be sure to check this out at your local drugstore in the deodorant aisle.

Thanks, J!

Review: Skin Food Green Tea Milk Cleansing Gel

skin food cleansing gel

My friend, E, recently came back from a trip to Korea and brought me back samples of beauty products!! A popular skincare line there is called Skin Food. I always wanted to try this and the first thing I used was their Green Tea Milk Cleansing Gel. She said it was really good and didn't dry out her combination skin. I tried out the gel as well for the past week and she was right. Unlike past cleansers I have used in the past, this one left my skin feeling smooth and clean. I didn't feel the need to moisturize but I did anyway just in case.

I definitely am a fan of Skin Food and can't wait to try out the other samples. :)
Thanks, E!

Easter Sale @ K-mart

Now that Easter is over, there are tons of Easter sales going on. They're just trying to remove their inventory, which is understandable because they don't want these products to take up valuable space in their shelves when they could be selling full-priced items.

Here are a few pictures I took of the enormous quantity of plastic Easter eggs, baskets and other related products! I suggest next time, they don't buy as much. :)
Everything is 75% Off so a dozen Easter eggs are about $0.50 to $0.60 and the baskets are $5!!

Note: This post isn't beauty-related, but it is related to being GREEN! (ie. don't buy so much and waste! Or in this case, don't make so much and waste.)

April 22 is EARTH DAY! Exciting things are happening.. stay tuned!

Their first products in their makeup line include the following:
- Correcting Concealer

They only have a few basic colors, but I am excited to check out the rest of the makeup line as they continue to show more products this year! Juice Beauty lips and cheek colors will be out in May 2010, followed by their Eye makeup in August 2010.

Anyone else Juice Beauty fans?

Jurlique Balancing Day Care Cream

Up until recently, I have been using the Yes to Tomatoes moisturizer (I ran out of it) for my face. I received this full-size Jurlique Balancing Day Cream at an event last year and decided to try this. I heard wonderful things about this brand- they work well and use natural ingredients! I am so glad that I got this to try because I absolutely love this!

I use this everyday in the morning to moisturize my face. It really keeps my skin from getting dehydrated after my cleanser. I'm currently using the Burt's Bees Purifying Gel Cleanser from their Natural Acne Solution line as my default, but I'm testing several different ones for review. Stay tuned!

Don't forget to moisturize everyday!

Benefit Cosmetics- Dr. Feelgood Complexion Balm

For Christmas, my friend C gifted me a travel-sized Dr. Feelgood complexion balm. This travel-sized product is great for reducing shine while leaving your skin feeling smooth. It goes on clear, as you can see, it's a clear-ish, beige-ish balm, so it can be worn alone or with makeup.

Since I received this I have seen improvement with my skin during the day. I know that it works because when I don't use it, my skin gets oily esp. on my T-zone by mid-morning. With Benefit's Dr. Feelgood balm, I only have to blot my skin in the early afternoon. The travel-sized container is great to carry around in the purse or your pocket during the day.

Recently made a drugstore trip and found the 100% Pure Cosmetics line available! They didn't have their Fruit Pigmented cosmetics.. which is something I really want!

These two shelves carried the body scrubs in assorted flavors ($22 US) and gift sets (price varies).

The bottom two shelves carried the Nourishing Body Cream ($17 US) and Shower Gel ($15).
