New York Color (NYC) makeup products in stores!

At a trip to my local drugstore last month, I saw the New York Color Cosmetics' Be Bold collection. It's bringing high definition, bold lashes and color to your face to get you noticed. NYC Cosmetics are a very affordable collection you can pick up in drugstores and they're easily accessible. I got to try two of their goodies this month shown here:
 1) BIG BOLD MASCARA- It's bright pink tube that boasts having 15x more volume was a favorite. I have thin lashes and I personally love using mascara when I want my eyes to stand out. The formula definitely gave my eyes something to "bat" about. Volume-yes for $5 but I wish the scent wasn't as strong.

2) SHOW TIME GLITTER PENCILS- These glitery eyeliner pencils have silver specs to make your eyes glimmer. It comes in 5 shades- from browns to blues to purples- and are just $3 per stick. With most drugstore pencils, I like to warm up the pencil tip before wearing so I don't tug on my eyelids. However, I didn't see an issue here. This is great to wear on a special night out or just for fun!

NYC New York Color

For my Influenster Holiday Voxbox last month, I received the NYC New York Color Liquid Lip Shine in Nude York City. This nude color is one that you can wear everyday..it's super glossy but not that sticky. I like that it lasts long and gives you a beautiful sheen on your lips. They're also really affordable at your local stores, including Walmart, Target, Rite Aid, for just $2.49. If you're looking to try different colors on a low budget, look no further!

NYC New York Color Cosmetics: In the Spotlight Fall Collection

Welcome Autumn with NYC New York Color's In the Spotlight collection!

NYC New York Color has another limited edition this Fall with some amazing colors for the crisp Autumn air. Their Smooch 'n Proof Lipstain (which is said to last 16 hours) and their three new nail polishes are probably my favorite. The lipstains remind me of pointy felt-tip markers- the way you apply on your lips for a berry stain. It's also pointy enough for a precise lipline as well. The three new nailpolish colors are also quite amazing and on trend for Fall- a bit metallicy in three beautiful rich colors- a deep magenta, a gorgeous golden hue and a pretty silver.

NYC's Eye Love New York Collection

Eye Love New York! That's the slogan for NYC cosmetics (NYC standing for New York Color) bright eye color collection that is currently available at your local drugstores.

These single eyeshadows are great if you're tired of your regular shadows and need some color- ranging from bright blue to a lime green. They also have neutrals to pair w/ the brights to create a smoky effect. Here are the colors I was able to test and some swatches.

These swatches are made with just my fingers. The little brush in each eyeshadow case are too small but good for using as an eyeliner, but definitely not as a shadow. The colors are not as opaque as I thought they would be. They're bright in the packaging but not so much when I wear them. (Note: I didn't use primer for these swatches.) They were also slightly chalky at first, but they're blendable and good if you're looking for just subtle color. If you're not looking for anything too over the top, these are a great affordable alternative. :) Check out your nearest drugstore for these single eyeshadows!

My favorite teal blue shadow from the collection.

Review: NYC Berry Bloom collection

NYC New York Color has a limited edition collection called Berry Bloom to celebrate the Fall plum and berry colors for your lips, eyes and face! I was sent a sampling of their products from this line to try and I def. have my favorites.

First, their Individual Eyes Custom Compact eyeshadow palette in Berry Bloom, with 4 eyeshadow colors, primer, illuminator and sponge-tip applicator all in one convenient case! I loveee palettes and their color combination is just so pretty for the season. They have a how-to sketch in the back to demonstrate which color should be on your lid, contour, crease, etc. ($4.99, USD)

Swatches: For their eyeshadows, I highly recommend using their primer to really get the colors to pop. See the difference? Otherwise, the colors are too light and you really don't get the pigmentation of the colors to show.

Next, they have Eye Dust Loose Powders in their collection in Wild Orchid and Sparkling Rose. I have never tried applying loose eyeshadow powder in a roller-ball packaging, and figured that the powder would get all over the place so I was a bit skeptical. I did a few swatches on my arm, and then applied it onto my eyelid. Although some powder fell onto my face, the ease of using these rollerball shadow cases is superb (the first few times you have to let the ball run smoothly and then it works OK!) The light pink sparkling rose color is gorgeous as an all-over color and highlighter.

Like most of NYC's collections, the Berry Bloom collection also carries blush and lipshades. The Lip Gloss in "Rose Kiss" will give you a pretty pink pout and the gloss in Peony Kiss is a bit darker, more of a berry wine color. The blushes in the collection unfortunately were a miss for me. The Rose color is so pretty in its packaging but absolutely had no color on me- it was super light and I might as well have worn nothing. The Cherry Blossom is bright and also not as pigmented. But if you're looking for a subtle look, a sweep of Cherry Blossom will give you fuscha, pink cheeks. ($2.99, USD)

Top: (Peony Kiss, Rose Kiss) Bottom: (Rose, Cherry Blossom)

Swatches:

Overall, I am liking NYC New York Color's products because they are affordable and offer great value. The eyeshadows and lip colors are my personal faves so I will be on the lookout for other great colors they offer. I also look forward to seeing their next, new collection at my local drugstore! They always seem to have new ones coming out! :)
