L'Oreal EverStrong Shampoo from FreeBeautyEvents.com

In case you missed my earlier post about FreeBeautyEvents.com, I told you about this new site that I found through another blogger pal of mine, Rinny, from Rinny's Beauty Diary. FreeBeautyEvents.com consolidates exactly what its name says- free, beauty, events by location so you can find out what's happening. They hold monthly contests that giveaway beauty products just by entering and commenting for additional entries.

They were generous to send me the L'Oreal gift package to test (I actually received the Reconstruct Shampoo instead of Bodify Shampoo). The EverStrong collection by L'Oreal is a sulfate-free line and instead uses natural botanicals and their patented Bio-Ceramide Complex for strengthening your hair. The EverStrong Hydrate Shampoo is meant for Normal to Dry hair, and although I have normal/sometimes oily hair, I find these types of shampoos to be moisturizing without weighing my hair down. I have tried the Hydrate Shampoo before from a sample and found this to be just okay. It made my hair soft but it was a bit too hydrating since my hair felt weighed down a day after. This is great for those with actually dry hair.

The EverStrong Reconstruct Shampoo is meant for Frizzy, Dry hair. Again, I don't have dry hair but...

I do have some flyaways and frizz. I used this after my morning workout and my hair is feeling really good. It's moisturizing enough and has tamed my flyaways. I definitely prefer this one over the Hydrate Shampoo. Both shampoos though have strong Eucalyptus scents so it's invigorating when you use in the shower. They actually contain Rosemary Juniper. :)

L'Oreal Paris- Color of Hope collection

L'Oreal Paris' Color of Hope was created to bring awareness to ovarian cancer and help raise money for the cause. They offer a Cosmetics Collection, in which L'Oreal will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. If you purchase the cosmetics bag with two lip products and two eyeshadow palettes, they will donate ~$5!

When I saw this collection at my local drugstore, the new gorgeous Fall colors immediately caught my attention. In my head, I shrieked Plum nails! I purchase "Color of Hope", "Imperial Plum" and "Delicate Dusk." All three range from a light plum, darker plum to insanely dark plum. :) After checking out their website and learning more about the cause, I really admire L'Oreal for doing this.

Review on Color of Hope colour- Absolutely gorgeous! It is the perfect purple shade, that's almost a bit brownish/purple. You definitely want to wear two coats of this, b/c one coat is too sheer and you will just see your nailbed. I'm not sure if it's the heat (I apply this near my window for better ventilation) but I feel like the nail polish dries up pretty quickly before I even have a chance to use the same brush to apply on the other side of the nail...like a bit gloopy? You have to be quick and make sure you have the RIGHT amount of polish on the brush for each nail. It's a bit tricky.. but the payoff is worth it!

Review on L'Oreal Paris Double Extension Beauty Tubes

My review on the L'Oreal Paris Double Extension Beauty Tubes mascara:

This mascara definitely gave my eyelashes noticeable length and volume. It stayed on most of the day and some smudging by the end of the night. When I saw that it was a two step system which consists of first nourishing your lashes and them applying the mascara, I was hesitant. It made me wonder if the mascara was going to do any damage to my eyelashes, so I made sure I applied sufficient amount of the white coating. It took a while to apply since I was being very careful that I used enough coating too, and it also took a while to remove the mascara. The process seemed tedious so I think I will stick with my other mascaras instead.

Product Review: L'Oreal EverPure Moisturizing Shampoo

Shampoo! It's one of those products that I know I can try a lot of different formulas and not be allergic to. So recently, I have testing different shampoos, mostly from free samples that I have getting and collecting.

One shampoo that I have been using for a past couple of weeks and have just sort of stuck in my routine is the EverPure Moisturing Shampoo by L'Oreal. It is a fantastic drugstore find because it is luxury quality for less!



After using this shampoo daily, my hair is feeling softer and shinier. It has a fresh scent and makes my scalp feel nice and tingly. (It has rosemary, mint and juniper extracts in them!) It also lathers well so it feels like I am deep cleaning my hair.

I am so pleased that this product is made of a sulfate-free formula so I know it will not damage my hair but will only leave it even more soft and manageable. The sulfate in the formula ususally makes it lather but they have a found a way to still do so without the chemicals. Even though I don't have my hair colored, its anti-fade system is supposed to keep your hair color from looking dull. Studies have shown it can last up to 32 washes!

If you're looking for a moisturizing shampoo that will evenly coat your strands in the shower and moisturize your hair without stripping it of its natural oils, I definitely recommend using this product! It is affordable and conveniently located at your local drugstore. For a fraction of the price of an expensive shampoo, you can get this and its conditioner. (A review on the conditioner coming soon!)

TIP: Although it is recommended for people for dry hair and if your hair tends to get oily, I would try switching this product with a daily clarifying one. This way your hair won't feel weighed down because your hair still needs moisture!

Inside Scoop from L'oreal Paris Beauty Suite in Beverly Hills
