Influenster Holiday VoxBox

Over the Holidays, Influenster.com sent select members their #HolidayVoxBox full of goodies. It's similar to their other VoxBox's; they include 5-6 products from brands I know and I love! It felt like such a nice gift especially for the holidays so thank you Influenster!

Here's what I got:
1) a pack of EBOOST- a natural energy booster made of green tea extract and vitamins. The Pink Lemonade flavor gave it a nice kick and this potion certain helps
2) Kiss Nail Dress- these nail strips in leopard print
3) Goody QuikStyle hairbrush- amazing paddle brush with microfibers to help dry your hair faster. Been using this ever since and score! I've found my new favorite brush!
4) Quaker Real Medley Oatmeal in Summer Berry flavor- this conveniently packaged serving cup is a great breakfast to keep you full and satisfied. I add in some of my own chia seeds or hemp seeds for more nutrients.
5) NYC New York Color lipshine- got this in my last year's Holiday VoxBox and it's a perfect nude color to get glossy lips.

January Birchbox

My January Birchbox arrived mid-month and with my new 2013 attitude, I sampled everything right away! I took a spritz of SkinnyChic which smelled lovely. I also swiped my finger against Hot Mama's peachy goodness- love it! I opened up the poster to read all things Birchbox recommended us to do for this year. Later that day, I used the clarifying shampoo - to switch out my regular one. It had a nice sudsy feel- but will continue to use it to see if I will actually get a full-size. The Fresh skin cream was incorporated in my night routine- woke up to smooth hydrated skin.

Lash em serum - I waited until the weekend to try. Nothing drastic has changed yet..and unsure the little sample may bring any solid results.

All in all, excited to see my box next month! Hope it's a good valentines themed one!

January ConsciousBox

I got another ConsciousBox this month! I couldn't help myself as I loved the products in my previous two Classic boxes and really enjoy discovering new snacks! They also offer Vegan and Gluten-free boxes.

For a very limited time, Plum District is offering a 3 month subscription for $29. (Valued at $56) Since I normally pay $20 a month, this is a fantastic deal!! I'm hoping they don't shortchange the boxes that use this deal, but overall, I've been quite pleased with the goodies in here.

This month I got the following products:

34 Degrees- thin crispy crackers. I literally ate them in less than a minute!
(Made with unbleached wheat flour, a hint of natural cheese flavor, sesame seeds, and a pinch of salt.)

Chia Shots- a single serving of Chia Seeds that is perfect for your purse or lunch bag. I added this to my oatmeal today. Yum!
Did you know? Chia seeds are one of the richest plant-based sources of omega-3, dietary fiber, protein, and antioxidants.

LARABAR -this Uber delicious and nutty bar was great for a mid-afternoon snack. It was a bit chewier for my taste but still good!

Pamela’s Products - I have'nt tried yet but I'm excited to make some wheat-free, gluten-free brownies this weekend!

Q.Bel - First product I tried from the box, these mint wafers are chocolate covered so you almost forget that you're eating a healthy treat! Can't wait to get more.

Teeccino This super cereal, Teechia, combines chia, quinoa, amaranth, ramon, and pumpkin seeds!

Tea Forte - a tin of mints, I've actualy tried this before and love it! There's enough in here to last a while so it is amazing.

Waxalene
Drop the old petroleum jelly and go with something more natural. Organic Soy oil, Beeswax, natural vitamin E, and organic rosemary oil makes this a healthy, nourishing moisturizer and base for everything from dry skin to make up. No petroleum, not greasy, completely biodegradable and free of animal testing.

Peeled Snacks - I inhaled these apple clusters in no time! It's got 1 serving of fruit and it's 100% organic. Delicious fiber snack that beats a bag of chips any day!

Dale’s Raw Protein Bar - Looking to intake more protein? I haven't tried this yet either but will be saving it for my next post-workout snack!

MAAKOA -Koopuwa is a super antioxidant blend of delicious flavors from CupuaƧu, Acai, red grape, pomegranate, and more berry berry goodness! Will be adding this to my next smoothie.

Nutiva Hemp Seed - Haven't had this yet but I'm planning on adding hemp seeds (has a real nutty flavor) to my next oatmeal breakfast. These seeds are 33% protein and lots of omegas so it's perfect to sprinkle on your next meal.

BONUS! Nordic Naturals - Fish oil capsules. I've never tried before but I'm intrigued by the omega-3 and omega-9 oils.

Dove's Winter Care body wash review

Along with my new 2013 routines, I'm making sure my skin is hydrated and nourished- even in the shower. This month I've been using the Dove Winter Care nourishing body wash, infused with its NutriumMoisture technology. Keeping my scaly scary skin at bay, I've noticed my skin feeling softer even with my occasional hot showers. It's good to know my skin is at its best even with all these layers on!

Don't have this body wash? Tip: try to use warm water so you don't dry out skin.

(note: I received this product for review purposes only. All opinions are mine.)

2013 = New Year, New Routines!

2013 is here and it's off to a great start! It's a new year so it means I am going to start off with new routines. Such as? More exercising and joining the Tone It Up #LoveYourBody challenge! I'm also incorporating new routines found online such a EMG Fitness.

In addition, I'm amping my skincare routine by sticking with a schedule to use moisturizer, eye cream and any other serum I can find! Also I'm adding facial masques back into my routine and hoping I don't forget in a few months. :)

I'm also looking forward to trying new snacks and products :) - discovery via monthly subscription boxes. Can't help but to look forward to getting these goodies each month!

Cheers to an amazing 2013!!

Gifts gifts! Last minute gifts?

Christmas is just around the corner and this year it's about giving what you can! Even a simple card with a heart felt message is good to show those you care that you're thinking about them. But if you have some extra cash to spend on gifts, I say give them health! My top items are giving them a workout DVD that they may like to try, a food subscription box , or a few workout classes! This special gift may help encourage them to give fitness a try for 2013! And who doesn't want the gift of health? Happy holidays!!

My December Birchbox

Update #2- will not be getting the sample afterall. Boo!

Update#1- Birchbox's Customer service responded to my inquiry and I will be getting a replacement soon! YES!

I've been posting my Birchboxes pretty frequently, may have missed a month or two, but I'm always proud to showcase my monthly Birchbox. This time, I was debating whether I should. Not that I don't love my box, it's just that for the second time- I am missing a product. And it's a pretty noticeable difference!

My December Birchbox came in a beautifully decorated box with these products:
 1) Thymes Body Lotion in Naia  (Absolutely adore Thymes so ecstatic to try this scent with notes of lemon pulp, water lily and sheer musk)
2) ModelCo SHINE Ultra Lip Gloss in xx (It's a tad bit bright for my taste but the cute mirror on the package is a plus!)
3) KƩrastase Nutritive Nectar Thermique (this sample pack is great for travel, but I usually save them just for that. Also, it's a hair treatment which may be too heavy for my hair..)

The one thing I really wanted to try was the Juice Beauty CC Cream!! I'm a huge fan of Juice Beauty, so it's natural I wanted to try the next generation BBcream.

My EcoEmi Bonus Box

Back in October, EcoEmi announced its sale of a Bonus box. They are sold whenever they have an extra supply of items and they randomly put everything together to give you about
30+ items for about $30. Since I haven't gotten a single box this year, I said why not? Boy, am I glad I got this! First the amount of goodies in here is worth it! And they're all pretty useful!

Stay tuned for next post as I unveil what's in the box!

If you're looking for a new box to try out, check out EcoEmi!

Conscious Box review

**For a limited time, PlumDistrict is offering a 3 month subscription for $29!!**Expires Jan 19, 2013

Conscious Box, another monthly subscription box service, focuses on bringing healthy, eco-friendly items to your doorstep. Their first box came out last November but since they were so new and I already had a bunch, I cancelled. Throughout the year I've still kept my eye on them and finally for their one year anniversary, I decided to subscribe again as a holiday gift to myself. (Maybe I have matured as a monthly box subscriber and decided what is actually of good value (ha)!) So for the November one year box I was pleased with the samples of Justin's peanut butter cups, Freekah, Teecino and pancake mix that I received. It was all food-related but who doesn't like to eat? They remind me a lot of the other subscription box, Love With Food but Conscious Box usually has other random samples..

The December box came this week with even more variety- nothing Holiday themed though which is a bummer. Again there's more snacks which I will definitely enjoy during my breaks but my favorite is the Weleda firming eye cream! Valued at $33, the cream makes the whole box worth it!

So it's been a fun ride with Conscious Box. It's a new year (and on to trying other boxes perhaps?) Until next holiday season, Conscious Box! Au revoir!
