Summer scrub w/ Burt's Bees! Bonus- Sneak peek on new products!
![]() | This summer, it' all about short shorts, tanks, skirts- anything to show off your smooth arms and legs! To get your skin at its best, it is important to exfoliate to keep your skin at its best. Since I have been using the new Burt's Bees Mango & Orange Sugar Scrub daily, my skin has never looked summer-ready! |
I already heard great things about their sugar scrub in Cranberry & Pomegranate (even won the 2010 Fitness Award) so I knew the Mango & Orange one would be just as great! I'm a huuuge fan of citrus-y scents so the mango/orange combination makes is smell so yummy that you wish you could eat it. I was not disappointed- the scrub was everything I could ask for. It's light oil and fruity scent helps slough off dead skin cells. (you don't want the sweat to still be on your skin right?) After using this, my entire body felt like it came back from a spa with completely smooth, moisturized skin (be careful, it can get a bit slippery in the tub!).
I saw at a drugstore/market that sold Burt's Bees products a preview of upcoming items! Looks like there will be new body bars, cleansing towelettes and a new line of products for sensitive skin! (Sold in your local stores in July 2011, but if you don't see them, they are selling them online!) The two new scents are the Mango & Orange and Honey & Shea.
Ingredients: sucrose, aqua (water, eau), mangifera indica (mango) seed oil, mangifera indica (mango) juice, passiflora edulis fruit juice, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, mangifera indica (mango) fruit, cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, ascorbic acid, citric acid, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) oil, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) peel powder, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) peel wax, glycerin, glycine soja (soybean) oil, lactic acid, mangifera indica (mango) seed butter, vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil, parfum (fragrance), potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, tocopherol, limonene

Burt's Bees Essentials Kit Review
I'm a huge sucker for kits- must be the thought of trying different things all in one convenient packaging that gets me. :D I'm fond of Burt's Bees and have tried sampling their products before (Hello- $25 Holiday Grab Bag!). They now have several kits that make great gifts for friends, your mom (Mother's Day is coming soon!) or even yourself!
The Essentials Kit shown above contains an assortment of goodies for your lips, hands, face & feet:
* Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream 0.75 oz- This cleansing cream is great for my skin- deep cleaned it w/o leaving it oily after a few hours. I was rather surprised b/c it was a thicker cleanser than I normally would use. The bark is kinda interesting but it looks like it's doing its job well. Am definitely going to buy a backup of this!
* Hand Salve 0.3 oz - I already have this and like that it instantly gives my chapped hands, elbows, etc instant gleam and moisture. I've also discovered this for my heels too! Goodbye cracked heels!
* Naturally Nourishing Milk & Honey Lotion 1 oz- The scent (and formula) is completely soothing and moisturizing. Love the milk & honey combo - it's a bit different from my body butters or my citrus-y lotions.
* Coconut Foot Cream 0.75 oz-It's time to wear those peep-toe shoes and flip flops, so no more cracked heels. If you're like me, you will also use the hand salve for your heels and use this coconut foot cream for the rest of your feet. It smells really nice, like you're on a tropical island! Great for travel too.
* Beeswax Lip Balm 0.15 oz- This lip balm is great for moisturizing your dry, chapped lips. This is probably one of their most classic items and anything with beeswax protects my lips from the wind, cold, and even heat sometimes! This all natural lip balm is one of many lip balms that I have stowed in my makeup bags.

Burt's Bees Natural Toothpaste

Looking for a new, natural toothpaste? Look no further because Burt's Bees recently came out with natural toothpastes in 3 formulas- Multicare, Whitening and Kids.
The Multicare and Whitening formulas come with either fluoride or fluoride-free. I'm particularly excited about the Kids formula myself because it comes in an Orange-Wow with Fluoride and Berry Bee without Fluoride. These natural and tasty flavors will make kids excited to brush their teeth! Yay! I will personally choose the fluoride ones because it will protect my teeth against cavities.
Secret Ingredient? Cranberry Extract- This is the key ingredient used in the formulas because cranberries have a nutrient called Proanthocyanidins or PACs. Studies have shown PACs does not let "oral bacterial stick to the surface of teeth, thereby helping prevent plaque formation before it starts." Genius!
Have you tried this yet? Look for them at your nearest retailer including Safeway, Wholefoods, and more! For a complete list, check here.

Burt's Bees Natural Acne Solutions Review
At the end of August, I started using products from the Burt's Bees Natural Acne Solutions line. I was in need of a new cleanser because I did not feel like what I was using really cleaned my oily skin, especially in the hot, humid weather. I also had some breakouts and needed to get rid of them!
The Burt's Bees Natural Acne products contain the Purifying Gel Cleanser, Targeted Spot Treatment (both of which I purchased), a Pore Refining Scrub and a Daily Moisturizing Lotion.
To see what ingredients really make these products work and get FREE SAMPLES and COUPONS,
Featured Ingredients- They both contain natural salicylic acid, derived from its key natural ingredients, such as Willow Bark Extract. The Cleanser contains Beet Root Extract and Evening Primrose Extract and the Spot Treatment contains Parsley Extract and Tea Tree Extract. (All natural!)
I can't wait to try the Scrub and Moisturizer!
