mark Cosmetics: on the dot color compact

Palettes are my makeup must-haves! They offer you choices and color combinations any artist would want! I was recently gifted some amazing loot (which I can't wait to share) and one of the items included this mark On The Dot eye color compact. This 2 x 3 inch compact has 9 gorgeous pastel colors.

The pigmentation for the colors are great and add a nice pop of color to your everyday neutrals. :) They're a bit shimmer though so adding as a liner or a subtle blend works best for an office-look. Going out? Smoke it with the steel blue/grey on bottom right and pop it with the lime green!

Holiday Series #4: Smashbox Eye Wish palette

smashbox"Star light, star bright, The first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight!"

The Smashbox Eye Wish Palette will be the perfect holiday gift for yourself or your BFF!

For every Smashbox Eye Wish Palette purchased, a $1 will be donated to the CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK. Palette available at Smashbox.com or Sephora.com ($45, USD).

If you wished for the perfect eyeshadow palette, then your wish may have just came true! Smashbox's Eye Wish Palette is a fabulous palette with 12 gorgeous eye colors, shimmery and matte with 4 gel eyeliners, a primer and a mascara. The colors (vertically in each row) are complementary and create gorgeous looks for the holiday party and neutral everyday looks as well! Overall, the shadows were pigmented (colors in the first row def. need the primer to be show up on my skin) and they lasted for a long time. The primer def. helped make the shadows last longer and the mascara/gel liner made my lashes pretty and eyes defined.

My favee part of this palette is their LOOKBOOK. They have easy instructions for several different looks so if you're a beginner, you can learn what colors in the palette go well together.

100% Pure Cosmetics- Eye Shadow Palette

When I first learned about 100% PURE cosmetics from Meg's Makeup (where else would I learn about the latest and greatest brands?), I was intrigued by their concept. Making cosmetics from fruit pigments? I wasn't quite sure how it would work... but t

So when I discovered the brand at a local store, I was psyched! Their body collection looks to die-for. Why? They offer delicious pomegranate, chocolate, strawberries, peach and more flavors in their sugar scrubs, lotions and body washes. Their simple packaging also makes it look very clean and fresh. I haven't tried them though, but if they're all natural.. must be good.

The Cosmetics are also a bit pricey than what I would pay per single item right now. I have way too much in my collection, so I cannot justify spending $14 for a single eye shadow pot even though I really want to try this creamy formula! I did go back after a few months and the tester still looked pretty nice- so I know it will last longer than I expect.

100% pure pretty naked palette
100% pure gift set
100% pure chocolate lip palette

What caught my eye was their sets and palettes. They had a Chocolate lip palette, a Pretty Naked palette (neutral shades) and gift sets with brushes/eyeshadows/face powder and more! In addition, they had this lovely Plum Eyeshadow set.

If you don't know already, purple is going to be hot this fall. Whether you're rocking the violet on your nails (stay tuned for my Fall Nail trend article) or clothing, this Plum palette has enough neutral and plum shades to wear everyday. What pleasantly surprised me the most is that the color stays! At first, I thought the colors would be too sheer, but the trick is to pat the colors on your eyelids. Obviously the lighter shades don't show as well, but they make great highlighters under the eyebrows.

Looks like this palette is discontinued, but I definitely recommend seeking out and trying to get this if you can!

Their Cosmetic line also includes mascara, lip/cheek tints, tinted moisturizers, powder, cheek pots, and lipsticks!! I would buy everything if I could! :)

Maybelline Eyestudio Eyeshadow Quads

Quick beauty finds from Vegas- Maybelline Eyestudio Eyeshadow Quads-

I saw this at the CVS on the Vegas strip and couldn't help but take a few pics to share. I didn't buy any but I will be on the lookout to see if they are selling these back home.

From what I hear, they have already been selling similar quads in Asia, and they are now just turning up in the States. What do you think?

They look iridescent and so sparkly! Gorgeous- yay or nay? They cost $9.99- which is probably why I did not purchase any..

They also have Lasting Drama by Eyestudio which are gel liners ($6.99) and Color Pearls ($9.99), which are two shades, shimmery eyeshades.

Holiday Series #3: Pür Minerals Holiday Collection

Get ready for your Holiday soirees with a glam Pür Minerals look! Their cosmetics are simply pure- free of chemical dyes, talc, etc. and includes shea butter and Vitamin E to nourish your skin. The products shown here will help you achieve the picture perfect look while you're out having fun with your friends and family.

Start with a flawless face by using Pür Mineral's Pressed Mineral Foundation and Chisel Brush.

Pür minerals
For the Holidays, get a glamorous look with these products from Pür Minerals that I received to test: (From left to right)
*Mineral Lip Pencil with Lip Brush in Ruby
*Eyeshadow in Champagne Citrine
*Eyeshadow in Gold Dust
*Mineral Eye Defining Pencil with Smudger in Chocolate Mica
*Mineral Shea Butter Lipstick in Red Ruby (bottom)

Here are swatches of the two eyeshadows. The one on top is Champagne Citrine. It's slightly yellow-based and actually looks like the color of bubbly champagne. Delicious and gorgeous as a highlighter.
The shade below is the Gold Dust, a bit more coppery but also pretty as a highlighter or a base. Depending on your look, both shades have enough shimmer to last you all night! (Tip: Intensify your look with a wet application.)

What I like best about Gold Dust is that its subtle enough to wear as a monochrome color during the day and it looks great, too! Yes- this is what I wear during work.

The shadows are amazing to use; the colors go on smooth and silky. Read my TotalBeauty review here.

Now that you have the perfect shadow shades on your eyes, complete the look with a soft, brown eyeliner. The Pür Minerals Eye Defining Pencil has the color on one tip of the pencil and a sponge-tip smudger to create a smokier look or to simply clean up any boo-boos.

To get your cherry-red lips, line them first with the Lip Pencil and color in with the Shea Butter Lipstick. It's a bright color which looks good to brighten your face. If you're not comfortable wearing this bright color, you can use a bit of gloss in a nude shade over it to make the color less subtle. (Tip: Blot powder on lips after application and reapply lipstick. This will make the color last longer)

Use your favorite blush to finish the polished look.

My Sephora Trip

This past weekend, I took a trip to my regular Sephora store. Notice the title of this article does not say "My Sephora Haul," but rather "My Sephora Trip." While I did not purchase anything while I was there, I had so much fun browsing at Sephora, eyeing and testing swatches of a few products I am interested in getting (online.)
After watching makeup guru, Juicystar07, on YouTube rave about the Kat Von D palettes, I knew I had to check them out and see how pigmented the eyeshadows were. Boy, was Blair aka juicystar07 right! They were unbelievably gorgeous and her favorite palette, Beethoven, is also my favorite (even though I do not own it... yet.) For $34, you get 8 gorgeous eye colors in a neat little black palette with mirror and brushes.

Next, I checked out the Sephora by OPI nail collection so I could see the colors that were on my wishlist. The "In the Shadows" shade was a lot darker and browner that the picture showed. Also, "Caffeine Fix" is a bit more burgundy red than the purple it looks on the website. I did like the "Metro Chic" color which I may have to get as well. They didn't have the matte colors so I wasn't able to test those out.

Finally, I noticed that ck Calvin Klein makeup were all on sale for 50% off. There was not much of a selection left, obviously, except for a few eyeshadows. They do have a good amount of eyeshadows ($8 for single, $11 for duo shadows, like above) on sale on Sephora's website, so check that out if you are interested. I also saw a cute nailpolish set above, called the Splendid Glam Mini Nail Enamel Collection for $12.50
