SHAPE Magazine's Pilates in the Park - October 2010

This past Sunday was the annual Pilates in the Park sponsored by SHAPE magazine. It was one of the first magazine workout events I attended in NYC back in 2007 when I knew this as Pilates for Pink. For $25 you get to participate in a 40 minute Pilates class taught by certified instructors with various backgrounds and a free workout mat + goody bag. The best thing about this is knowing that all proceeds are donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

I went last year to check out the vendors and they had my favorite- Spin & Win! By donating a certain amount to spin a wheel, you get a small prize. There were other vendors there, including Tribe Organics with delicious hummus, Truvia were giving out smoothies and I also got a massage at the Asics booth.

Check out the pictures and make sure to join in the fun next year! Note- I was surprised this year’s goodie bag didn’t have as many beauty sponsors as last year’s! The Pilates Mat was pretty nice though.

PrettyCity presents NYC Beauty Sample Sale

This past Wednesday, was the annual PrettyCity Beauty Sample Sale, partnered with Shape Magazine. It was a great event, I got an amazing goodie bag, won prizes at Shape's Spin & Win giveaway, and bought the most adorable makeup bags from Apple & Bee.

Recap of the event: I spent about 10-15 minutes in line, which was great. Last year, I believe I spent over half an hour or even more because the line was ridiculously long. Why the difference? I think because last year Shape magazine had a code that offered this event for free and this year, the event admission was $10. It's still a great deal because it gives you one drink ticket, an awesome goodie bag, and a night full of fun!

Pilates for Pink 2009 - Updates

Today was the Pilates for Pink event, sponsored by Shape Magazine, in Union Square, New York City. The weather was great, as you can in the pictures below. There were lots of people in the area, either taking classes, waiting for a class or just passing by and checking out the goodies.

I didn't take a class this year because I was in late in registering for the one I wanted to take. Note to self: Order early!! So I didn't get a swag bag this year, but I did see they received a very cute pink yoga mat. I am still using the one I got two years ago so I'm definitely going to take a class next year. :)

This Pilates event is to help support and raise awareness of breast cancer. Join Shape Magazine at this event in Union Square park, New York City, to get fit with Pilates.
