The Makeup Show in NYC May 3-4, 2015

The Makeup Show is celebrating its 10th year and this weekend's show in NYC will have several events to help celebrate!! There will be lots of workshops, educational seminars, tours and much more. Birchbox #SampleStop during NYFW

During NYFW, Birchbox created a haven for press to hangout in between shows. They also invited subscribers to visit one evening (one of the perks of being a member!) and partake in the lovely event. Overheard another attendee describing it as "beauty heaven," I couldn't agree more! Once you walked in there was a photobooth, drinks, candy, stylists, manicurists- even a stage for their performer of the night- and the best part- a Birchbox Station to make your own Birchbox! It was an incredible evening with samplings galore. These fun events really drive customer loyalty to their subscription service which is why, if you're not a member already- you have to join! (subscribe here.) The thrill of getting this box of goodies each month can be yours for $10/month. At this price for 2 years ( Happy Anniversary! ), I'm glad inflation hasn't taken over.

NYC Wanderlust Festival Recap

This past Sunday was the amazing Wanderlust Festival at Pier63. With a beautiful view of the Hudson and gorgeous blue skies, many NYC yogis were ready to take on the world! (well, more like getting centered.) I even gota nice glowy tan from my hour and a half class. The teachers were great and you can learn more about the music and instructors here.

Not only was I excited to take the class with the local community, I was psyched to see Kristin McGee at the Health Magazine booth where I got to take a mini class inspired by moves in her latest DVD, S3- Strong, Sexy, Svelte. I waited for about any hour at the booth just to line up and partake in the class! So great seeing her again and hope to see her again soon! There were also some giveaways for Vita Coco juice to replenish my thirst after class, samples of Elizabeth Arden skincare, BluePrintCleanse, EmergenC packets and Health mags.

September is National Yoga Month

This month is National Yoga Month! Lots of great events are happening this month to celebrate! For me, staying zen has been an important aspect of my life since I have been practicing (more frequently) this year. :) To spice up my routine (and to change my surroundings), I go to different events whenever they become available.

On September 9, I will join yogis in the city to participate in the NYC Wanderlust festival right on the pier!

I am super excited as I will also be able to see again Kristin McGee- aka @thebendigirl my fave Pilates instructor! She will be at the Health Magazine booth and demonstrating moves from her new DVD, S3. Will pick one up tomorrow and cannot wait!!!

Health & Fitness Expo sponsored by Fitness & More Magazines

This past weekend, I attended the More/Fitness Magazines' Health &Fitness Expo in New York City. Open to the public, this expo featured many vendors that I love such as Duane Reade, Sparkly Soul headbands, and Aveeno. While runners/walkers were there to pick up their registration packets for the Fitness/More Half marathon this past Sunday, I attended to check out what was new in the industry. I picked up the May copies of the Fitness, More and Eating Well magazines (already read them cover to cover) and enjoyed some goodies I got from the Jenny Craig, Aveeno and Duane Reade booths.

Jenny Craig was giving our some Cheesy Curl & smores bar snacks! Yum!	Got some great shampoo, moisturizer and sunscreen samples.

SpaWeek Media Party- Book your Spa Week appointments today!

Spa Week is almost coming to an end.. if you haven't booked your #50DollarTreatments yet, you still have a few more days! (Ends Sunday, April 22) Last week, I attended the Spa Week media party to celebrate the start of Spa Week on Monday. Not only did I get to check out some of the spa treatments, I also got to meet one of my favorite authors, Emily Giffin, best known for the chick-lit/movie "Something Borrowed." I met her last year at a book signing of her last book "Heart of the Matter" and so I was excited to meet her again to let her know how much I enjoyed the book and the movie "Something Borrowed." I also got to see Christopher Drummond in action-giving gorgeous makeovers from his mineral makeup line. Attendees also got sample treatments from Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas and Spa Chicks on the Go.

The Makeup Show in NYC- May 13 & 14

This year, the Makeup Show will be held in the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City on May 13 & 14, 2012. At one of my favorite buildings in NY and home of so many fun gatherings, this show will be another spectacular event to add to my must-attend list this Spring. With a long list of exhibitors, I'm excited to see again Make Up For Ever Pro, Mario Badescu, Stila, NARS, Crown Brushes, and so much more!! And of course, beside shopping and updating my makeup bag, I cannot wait to attend some seminars and really learn from the industry's best during this 2-day seminar.



If you can't make it to the one in NY, they also have the show in Chicago, Orlando and Berlin this year.

Natural Health Magazine's Urban Wellness Retreat

On the last weekend of March, I attended the Urban Wellness Retreat hosted by one of my new favorite magazines, Natural Health at Barnard college in NYC. This all-day session included guest speakers whose expertise ranged from nutrition, family, happiness, and Eco-friendly living.

I had an amazing time and cannot wait to come back next year. It was a wonderful way to spend my Saturday learning about healthy tips and feeling inspired to change my life for the better!

First, FOOD! We ate a delicious vegetarian lunch, quinoa, yummy wrap, fruit skewers and salad!

Organic Avenue founder, Denise Mari, talking about the importance of eating whole natural foods. I haven't juiced before but I do love them!

Dr. Peggy Drexler talking about how a woman's relationship with her father shapes her life. Her book "Our Father, Ourselves" is quite interesting as I'm still reading it.

The NATURAL BEAUTY panel w/ experts on nails, laser and nutrition.

Gabby Bernstein aka the Spirit Junkie was so passionate about everything she said. I'm also reading her book now, "Add more -ing to your Life!"

It's Danny Seo, an eco-activist, has one of the best green blogs out there. He was hilarious as the audience chuckled at all his jokes and his personal story was inspiring for everyone.

Lester's Department Store Experience & Tour

This month, I was invited to a private event to learn about Lester's department store on the Upper East Side in NYC and I had such a delightful time. Lester's specializes in womens, juniors, tweens, kids, and baby clothing & accessories, so there really is something for everyone when you're shopping for your family. (Except men's) Their styles are very trendy and for the kids/baby clothing, they are absolutely adorable! Items in here are practical for your own family or make great gifts for your nieces, nephews and other friend's children.

They recently launched their website so if you don't live near a Lester's department store, you can check out their inventory on their website. Here are some pictures from the various departments there. As you can see, all the clothing there are so stylish!

Meet Diane von Furstenberg in NYC's Sephora in Soho on October 27

Fashion designer, Diane von Furstenberg is launching her new fragrance, named Diane, and will be at NYC's Sephora Soho Thursday, October 27th from 6-8 PM. Here's your chance to meet the legend herself when you purchase her scent, as well as get her autograph! This floral scented fragrance contains notes from Frangipani, Violet, Patchouli, Musks and Myrrh. I haven't tried this but Sephora is still having their Friends & Family discount, so now's a great time to snatch a bottle here! :)

Pretty City's Beauty Sample Sale - Event Recap

Every year I go to the Beauty Sample Sale hosted by PrettyCity.com and SHAPE magazine in the Fall. The first time I attended the event, I was super excited to see the vendors and learn more about their products. They also have this really fun Spin the Wheel booth sponsored by SHAPE magazine so you can win a cool prize. That is always fun! Of course there's always yummy snacks and drinks to enjoy. It's a great event to go with your girlfriends and even meet new friends. As a VIP, I got to attend the event an hour earlier than general admission. This was perfect to mingle and see everything without the crowds.

First step, was to grab a glass of the Naked Grape- delicious vino for the evening. After checking out the Cosmedicine, getting shampoo & conditioner bottles (NOT samples!) from ARROJO, spinning the SHAPE magazine Spin 'n Win wheel and got the Rescue Balm, and getting a relaxing massage to ease tension on my shoulders. The extra full goody bag contained lots of goodies as well to take home!

iFABBO Blogger event in NYC

Last Monday, iFabbo members were invited to their New York City meetup! Those in the NYC area got together for en evening of fun, drinks, and fabulous chat sessions with Dr. Colbert w/ the NY Dermatology Group and fashion designer Stacy Igel of Boy Meets Girl! Had a great time that evening and so glad to be a part of iFabbo!

While eating snacks, courtesy of PopChips, we also sipped on Hint Water & FRS Energy drinks! YUM!

StyleFixx Premier Shopping Event in New York City, May 2011

This past week, I attended the StyleFixx Premier Shopping Event in New York City. I first attended this beauty & fashion shopping event back in the Fall of 2009, so I was excited to come back after going hiatus for more than a year. (Recap/goody bag pics of 2009 event here.) Again, there were lots of fashion vendors, selling dresses and clothing and jewelry shops. I was hoping to see some more beauty products but overall, I had a fun time! Thank to StyleFixx for the VIP Tickets!

I got to sip on SmartWater and snack on RiceWorks- gourmet brown rice crisps aka HEALTHY Doritos in a Salsa Fresh flavor the entire night.

Everyone got to walk down the red carpet before entering StyleFixx 2011!!

I had a nice time browsing through the vendor's merchandise and seeing such gorgeous jewelry! It's always inspiring to see the new designs, especially hand-made items since I'm thinking of making some of my own pieces too! (easy ones of course) Of course at the end of the night, everyone got to take home a huge goody bag full of snacks and products!

	Here is a closeup picture of a JAR of Fifth Madison soaps.. I bought this scent b/c of its blood orange scent. :) This retails for $10 but I got a steal for getting one for only $5!~
	Here's the entire table of the Fifth Madison soaps & candles! So many scents, so little time (to use them all) If you're a scent-aholic like I am you will go sniff-happy trying these out!
	One of the vendors (didn't catch its name b/c there were so many people in the back) were selling clothing- dresses in particular that caught my eye. Here are the racks of dresses starting at $20 !
Last but not least, is the GOODY BAG!! If you saw my post from last year, you would notice this year's is a bit snack-heavy. However, I love to munch and I am excited to try the Freeman's Lemon & Mint clay mask so I am a happy camper! All in all, StyleFixx Girl's night out event is fun for you and your friends to grab a drink or two, and shop!!
