Heal My Sole: Yuzu Lotion from my Meg's Makeup Package

My recent Meg's Makeup 250 point makeup package contained several gems, and one of them is the Heal My Sole lotion. At first glance, I thought this lotion was for my feet.. Sole = back of feet, no? But I quickly learned this Yuzu Lotion scent, citrus-filled aroma, was meant for my body-arms, legs, feet, anywhere! It's perfect as we transition into Fall and possibly winter! My skin is starting to get dry and this travel-friendly bottle is just what I need for a quick pick-me-up during the day while I moisturize my skin. It's a fabulous find and I'm so glad to have found this from one of my FAVORITE makeup websites, MegsMakeup.com !!

Check it out now if you're not already a member! (You, too, can earn makeup goodies too if you're an active member of the megsmakeup.com community!)

Meg's Makeup- My End of Summer of Goodie Package!

If you've been following me for a while, you already know that I adore the community on Meg's Makeup (megsmakeup.com) and especially the great makeup gift packages that she sends to readers who redeem points. I cashed in my 250 points at the end of August and recently received my package! For the cost of just shipping, my 250 point package came with 5 awesome products!

* Heal My Sole- Yuzu Lotion This citrus-y lotion smells so refreshing and is great for dry skin. It's travel-sized and perfect
* Tarte for TrueBlood - cheek stain Looks super bright red but is a pretty rosy color with sparkles! May be too sparkly for some, but it's a nice change with
* Dr. Jules Nabet- Zen Lotion This lotion is more like a misty spray that refreshes & moisturizes my skin.
* China Glaze Nailpolish
* Revitalash

Love & Toast Hand Creme (gift from Meg's Makeup!)

In my Meg's Makeup gift package in February, I received a lovely Love & Toast hand creme in Paper Flower scent. Until I received this, I had not heard of Love & Toast and I'm so glad that I have. They are a brand whose philosophy is: It is just as important to do good, as it is to look good.

Their paraben-free formula hand creme is super hydrating with shea butters, avocado & sunflower oils with natural fragrances from botanical extracts. The Paper Moon scent is particularly made with Juniper and Lime Blossom essential oils and smells so fragrant. The only con about this is the packaging. The screw top is so small and the first time I unscrewed and tried to put it back, it just wouldn't work! It took a while but finally worked.. Tip: Make sure the cap isn't lopsided!

Thank You Meg for picking this hand creme for me! :)

EOS Lip balm & Shaving Cream review

This Spring screams BRIGHT and what better way to do so than with EOS's lip balm in Summer Fruit! I have heard so many other bloggers and vloggers rave about EOS, which stands for Evolution of Smooth, products so I had to try this. Picked this up at my local drugstore recently and I couldn't resist this bright red/orange egg-shaped lip balm. Easy to use and moisturizes your lips really well. Its 100% natural formula with shea butter and jojoba oil. and yummy scent makes you want to keep slathering it on all day.. if only I could eat this too!

EOS shaving cream
I have heard of EOS before actually, thanks to Meg's Makeup. I received samples of their shaving cream in Pomegranate Rapsberryto try in my Fab Gift points packages. (Get FREE makeup! Learn how here.) I found the cream to also moisturizing (contains natural aloe and shea butter) and left my legs incredibly smooth afterward. I haven't been able to find this in my stores until recently and now they have a great deal which includes a FREE Bic Soleil razor with every EOS shaving cream bottle. Sweet deal!

There are also EOS hand lotions and body lotions that I really want to try out but I haven't seen them at my local drugstore yet. They do have these available on their online store though. Check out: http://store.evolutionofsmooth.com/ for a complete list of their products. The lip balms in an egg-shape or stick packaging are $3.29 and their lotions are $4-$8.

Tarte Cosmetics from Meg's Makeup

Last week I received the most wonderful surprise from Meg of MegsMakeup.com! I usually get treats from her when I redeem my makeup points, so this was truly unexpected! She was so sweet to send me a "rewards" package- which included a few goodies from Tarte Cosmetics and a Lash Em! Since Tarte came out with new products earlier this year with Amazonian Clay for long lasting power, I have been eyeing a few of them to add to my collection. The reviews on Meg's Makeup also made me want them even more!

My thoughts on the products?

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Blissful - If you're looking to look "Blissful" this warm peach color will give you a gorgeous glow. It's got Amazonian Clay, Vitamins A, C & E so it's great for your skin.

Tarte Illuminating Serum - This serum will help brighten your skin. It's formulated to control oilies & hydrate your skin naturally with Amazonian Clay's many benefits. When doing a swatch, I got a weird allergic reaction. But I'm testing it again (for the love of BEAUTY) to see if it was just a fluke.. stay tuned!

Mally Beauty Evercolor Shadow Stick Review (from Meg's Makeup)

Happy March! My latest makeup obsession are sticks- eyeshadow sticks, chubby lip sticks, etc.- so I was excited to get from my Meg's Makeup gift package last month the Mally Beauty Evercolor Shadow Stick in Gunmetal. (read more TotalBeauty.com reviews here!)

I have heard wonderful things about Mally Beauty products so I was psyched to try this. Eyeshadow sticks are the best way to get quick easy color on your lids- can double as an eyeliner- and create a gorgeous smoky eye look. The staying power of Mally's shadow stick ($25, USD) is incredible. Smudgeable right after you put it on but once it sets, it stays! Putting on eyeshadows in the morning takes me just a few minutes. :)

See more from my Meg's Makeup gift package...

Gunmetal is a great dark silver color to wear during the day and evenings. The intensity is built when you apply a second layer but one is recommended for a daytime look. Easy to wear, and simple. The formula is great I'm hooked on Mally's products now. 'Smoke on!

I kinda want to try the Mally City Chick Smokey Eye Kit too.

Meg's Makeup - 50 Points Gift Redemption

Happy New Year! 2011 is here and I'm excited to share some of my recent holiday gifts/events/news... Stay tuned for more posts this week as I recap all the Holiday Goodness of 2010!

Meg's Makeup

The summer of 2009, I joined this fab site called Meg's Makeup. It was a growing beauty community of makeup fiends who loved to read other's product reviews, comment and share. It's become immensely popular since and the perk of being an active member was earning points to redeem for free goodies! I have redeemed several already and about 6 months ago, Meg's Makeup had to start charging shipping b/c it got quite expensive. I have saved enough pennies (500 to be exact) to redeem my first package since then and redeemed for the 50 Points package! Hoping to redeem for a 250 one soon though! :)

As always it is a treat to get Meg's Makeup packages! I got the Maybelline Falsies Volume Mascara and the LORAC 3DMultiplex Lipgloss!! Wheee what a steal for only 500 pennies! I'm starting the new year with new makeup and can't wait to try these soon!

Zakia's Argan Oil Shampoo

I received Zakia's Argan Oil Revitalizing Cream Shampoo from my Meg's Makeup gift package in February, and knew I had to share this product with my readers.

The Argan oil in the shampoo is moisturizing and it left my hair feeling soft and luxurious. Since I have been blow-drying my hair often since I have no time to let it air-dry anymore, I feel that my hair has been more frizzy and damaged from the heat. The Argan Oil coated the ends of my frizzies but left my hair feeling oily during the "second-day" after washing.

If your hair is oily, I don't recommend you to use this everyday. I use this once every two weeks to mix up my shampoo routine and to moisturize my hair.

Meg's Makeup Dedication

megs makeup
What is Meg's Makeup?
It's more than just a makeup community; it's a haven where I am inspired by reviews and other members to try new and different products for my hair, skin and face. So many beauty tricks and info I find useful, I have learned from Meg's Makeup.

Just a few things I have learned in the past couple of months..

* The Benefits of Witch Hazel is amazing- it's great for my oily skin as an astringent.
* New Trends such as Dark Green Nail Polish- Inspired by this post, I got myself a Wet 'n Wild Dark Green nail polish later in the fall.
* To resist temptation for the Stila Smudgepot Set- I was strapped for cash.. but I really wanted this! Next year, I promise!
* What Hyaluron can do for your skin -Received the M. Asam's Aqua Intense Hyaluron Cream in my first goodie package and realized it really moisturized my skin. Works wonders! :)
* You CAN smell like a cupcake after a shower- Also received this in my goodie package, and fell in loooove.
* Glue=Pore Extraction (Laughs!)- Does this equation work in your beauty routine?
* New Companies/Websites such as 100% Pure, and BeautyTicket.com- Always like to check out new products on these sites to see what's new.
and last but not least,
*Palettes such as the LORAC Croc Palette, will always be my beauty must-have.
- I am obsessed with palettes and this one has created so many beautiful neutral eye shades for me. LORAC palette=Love.

Thank you Meg for being so wonderful and dedicated to this site and for inspiring all Megheads to be their true beautiful self! All Megheads share a love for beauty and makeup and I'm so grateful to be a part of this wonderful family. :) xo, BeautyAllThat

Everyday Minerals' forum update and Try Me Free kits

The Everyday Minerals' forum is gone.. It has actually been a few days since they closed it. I'm a bit sad that they did this because it was such a great opportunity for customers/fans of EDM to interact and engage with each other. Also, it was a great resource to see hauls, swatch pictures, etc. They have replaced it with their updated blog which is nice and will take some time to get used to. For now, R.I.P. EDM forum. There are other forums out there where people still go to, but I forgot what they are.

Drama?- The week before the forum went "offline," I remember the admins were adamant about not bashing other members, ie: keeping the forum a place where things were civil and happy. I completely agree- who would want to go to a forum where people were mean to you and bullied you? The root cause may have been stemming from these so-called "group orders." From what I read, it seemed like someone participating in a group order- where one person ordered items for a number of people who wanted to participate in order to get the 45% discount and only wanted just one item- did not pay the person back in time. Not sure if this was true or what exactly happened because I wasn't checking the forum 24/7 and they had deleted those posts. However, it is sad that people just did not communicate enough so if there were any problems in payment, it could have been resolved in a more timely, fashionable manner. Instead, it had to blow up and was probably the last straw for EDM.

In the meantime, I've been on Meg's Makeup plenty to get my daily beauty fix! EDM members are also on here too! :) Read the forum on Meg's makeup to hear what happened to EDM.

Check out my first makeup goodies from Meg's Makeup here and my second package here.

I'm still a fan of Everyday Minerals- adore their products and they recently updated their Try me Free kits for eyes. Even though it says $5, you can add any one of these kits for FREE (hence, they are called "Try Me Free Gifts.") All you have to pay is shipping!

They also have beautiful Christmas and New Year Palettes in their Collection.

The Winter Wonderland collection offers sample sizes of:
- Floating Feathers: a white, light color great for a highlighter and inner corners of your eyes
- Swing Set: a matte, grey-ish blue color for an all-over lid (I own this!)
- Bubble Tea: A shimmery blue color

The Trim the Tree collection offers samples of:
- Parasail: light pink shade, good for highlighter
- Freckles: an olive green color
- Shopping Spree: a very pretty purple! (I own this too!)

Since I already own one of the colors in each set, I won't be getting these. I can't wait for their new kits though!
